Annual Objectives

2017 OBJECTIVES

• Hold annual spring clean-up in May
• Hold annual fundraiser in August
• Participate with the Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society in Log Cabin Day on the last Sunday of June, 2016
• Place railing on handicap ramp
• Have sidewalk installed
• Build steps for four entry ways into house
• Build new stairs to basement
• Remove all necessary plaster from interior walls and replace
• Finish all electrical work and install all lighting
• Finish handicap bathroom
• Connect all water lines inside house
• Restore the flooring
• Install appropriate molding around interior windows, ceiling and baseboard
• Landscape grounds around house with appropriate flowers, shrubs and hydro seed as needed
• Freshen up all benches and the kiosk display
• Make appropriate sign(s) for front of house indicating phone numbers to use for brief historical summary of Dougherty House and outbuildings
• Paint the interior walls and wall paper selected walls
• Install all restored interior doors

 Objectives for 2015

  • Continue to raise funds to meet the challenge grant from the Jeffris Family Foundation.  This includes the writing of grants.
  • Hold annual spring clean-up in May
  • Restore the front door and all interior doors of the Dougherty “Mission House”
  • Fine tune blue prints and begin construction documents, then submit for approval to the Grant Traverse Building Code Department and the Michigan Historic Preservation Network for approval.
  • Install code compliant new foundation to the Dougherty “Mission House” and install support beams, new sill and supporting studs as needed.  Create a 3 foot crawl space.
  • Hold annual summer fundraiser in August
  • Maintain Heritage Trail and place woodchips on the trail
  • Participate with the Old Mission Historical Society in Log Cabin Day on Sunday, June 28, 2015
  • Continue archaeological dig for artifacts if permission is received from Michigan Historic Preservation Network
  • Participate in Friday night downtown in conjunction with Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society
  • Audio Tour phone system will be implemented
  • Remove chimney except for the top 8 feet
